Digital Picture Frame

Update July 7, 2010

Opal's digital picture frame is still running all day and night. She's become very attached to it and is looking forward to me adding more old Lantz family photos.

One thing I forgot to mention is this model picture frame comes without a memory card. I originally used a small SD memory card from an old gaming system and also temporarily used my USB thumb drive to show her Friendship Days photos.

Recently I bought this 8GB memory card so I'd have room for more photos.  This card is large enough to store couple thousand images.

Update May 16, 2010

This turned out to be a great Mother's Day gift. It's running 24/7 at the nursing home with several dozen photos in slideshow mode. I've yet to add videos or audio files but will eventually try those too.

No batteries with this unit, runs strictly off house current, so it's not as portable as other photo devices but the 15" screen is a great size for wall display. The small remote control is the easiest way to power it on/off and set the features. The default slideshow setting was something like 5 secs per photo and random transitions between photos. We reset it for 15 secs and fade transitions so the photos get more of the attention than the slideshow action it's self.

It comes with a detachable foot for use on a table. I can see I'm goinig to borrow this for Tradeshows, meetings and family gatherings. Create JPEGS, load them onto the SD Card (additional purchase) via the PC to Digital Picture frame cable supplied and start watching your slideshow.

So far, no problems at all with this digital picture frame.

We'll be testing one of these 15" Digital Picture frames soon. While this model has fewer options than many smaller more expensive frames, the feature set looks to be more than adequate for our needs.
